Club 12 is a 14 bed affordable sober living house designed to provide a much needed structured living environment for men who need to have strong guidelines for a disciplined life in order to regain and maintain sobriety. It is a place where recovering addicts and alcoholics can call home until they are ready to reintegrate into society.
We recognize the effort necessary to remain sober, and welcome the addict and alcoholic whether recently sober and in recovery, out of treatment, or on probation or parole.
Our local community provides access to many services such as community colleges, trade schools, a public library, all denominational religious organizations and is close to public transportation, meetings, markets, and restaraunts.
Our facility is a beautiful new house with new furniture, and we provide wireless internet service, weights and other recreational equipment, linens are included and laundry facilities are on the premises. There are digital cable TV's in every room and a communal internet computer in the general area.
Club 12 Sober Living is designed for men of all ages in early and continued recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction who would benefit from added structure and support after completing a treatment program.
Club 12 believes in a strong foundation through the 12 Step Program, as well as the utilization of every resource available to aid the individual on his path of recovery.
Recovery is a sprirtual process in which the individual reconnects himself and the world around them. The recovering individual must relearn to live life and care for his mind, body, spirit and emotional self.
Individuals in recovery can seldom go through this process alone. We provide the support and environment for those who want this option.
Remaining sober long term is the difficult part. Research shows that participating in a 12 Step Program is essential in this process. Club 12 Sober Living House supports the 12 Step Program and process, which provides the foundation for our residents to acquire the skills to maintain recovery.
***A recent survey conducted at the De Paul University Center for Community Research, and funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol abuse (NIAA), shows that the rate of abstinance from alcohol and other drugs nearly doubled as a result of living in a supportive sober living environment (De Paul University 2005). After two years, nearly two thirds of those who lived in sober living homes remained abstinant!
